Continual Training
At Mountain Produce, we know our associates are integral to this process. Continuous training is provided to our team including product handling, proper storage, personal hygiene, and vehicle sanitation as well as other important food safety issues.
Food Safety
Our Director of Food Safety and Quality Assurance Team is continuously training, discussing, and incorporating ideas to improve our stringent food safety programs.
Security
Security is also a priority and maintained by our locked trucks and secured warehouse. All of our employees are screened and comply with drug and background tests.
Ongoing Improvement
Here at Mountain Produce, we are perpetually improving our facility to safeguard the high quality products our customers deserve. We internally review our food safety program on a regular basis.
Safety Ratings
An independent third party inspection of this program by Primus GFS continuously results in Superior ratings of our facility and our food safety program. The Utah Department of Agriculture and the Food and Drug Administration also conduct unannounced audits of our food safety program. Mountain Produce purchases products from growers with similar commitments to food safety.
Climate Control
To ensure Cold Chain Management, Mountain Produce utilizes multiple independent climate controlled coolers. This means that every product is stored in the temperature specific to that products individual need. Humidity levels and ethylene level requirements are also taken into consideration. Products are delivered to our customers in our pre-cooled state-of-the-art refrigerated trucks to ensure proper temperatures prior to loading, and during delivery.
Professional Staff
We seek to continue our professional knowledge by staying informed on current food safety issues, monitoring food safety updates, attending food safety seminars and working directly with retail and government partners. On site MTN utilizes a Certified Food Safety Professional, and HACCP Certified employees.
